Summary: AU as of Episode 9. Amon never shows up, and Tarrlok succeeds in his plan to escape Republic City and take Korra with him as a hostage.

Legend of Korra: “Chiaroscuro”
Summary: Written to fill a prompt on ficbending. The prompt was, “There are lots of prompts and fics on Korra marrying Tarrlok for political reasons, but I haven’t seen any that show Noatak’s feelings on his brother’s bride. Not just how this arrangement will affect the Equalist movement, but also on a more personal level. Then Noatak went to check on his little brother’s married life and noticed that Tarrlok genuinely loved his wife, and this made Noatak feel bad about his plans involving the Avatar - who is now his sister-in-law. Bonus if Korra was pregnant with Tarrlok’s child and when news gets to Amon, he was secretly happy of the fact that he was an uncle now.”
Rating: Strong T for potentially disturbing themes.
This also takes place and diverges from canon post-Episode 7, which means that Tarrlok and Korra never have their explosive fight in City Hall.

When Amon first reads about the outbreak of disease in the Southern Water Tribe in the Republic City Times, he smiles.
Besides the banner and wallpaper, I also bring you… a story! The text on the wallpaper is a rough translation of a Dutch song by Blof (part of it anyway) - and the story is a songfic based on that text…

Summary: A year after the explosion, Tarrlok confesses his feelings for Korra. But does she want more to do with him or not?MORE OF YOU

“You’re cheating.”
“I’m not.”
A smug smile spreads across Tarrlok’s face as he moves one of the Pai Sho tiles over the board. Korra frowns as she takes in the move that Tarrlok makes, and bows her face closer to the board, as though it will help her understand his strategy better.
A feeling of contentment rushes over the former councilman as he looks at his young opponent. She is beautiful, and the fierceness with which she makes her move, only illuminates that fact even more. There is a fire inside her he is unable to ignore. It spreads over to him, puts his body ablaze – which is ironic, considering the burn scars that already cover a large part of his torso and legs.
“Your turn,” she mumbles and she focuses her gaze on the board. If she looks at him now, she will catch him staring at her.And… we’re over halfway through the week now!! :-O Is everybody enjoying Korrlok week a little?

After the gala, Tarrlok decides to parade Korra around on an elephant-donkey for publicity. She loves it, he regrets it.

This is the “io had no ideas or time for this prompt so she threw total crack at her computer screen and it stuck” prompt. Euughghh… it’s so bad.
Also, the politics part of this is totally US-centric… for people who don’t know, Democrats have the symbol of a donkey in the US, while Republicans use an elephant, so I just combined them and stuck Korra and Tarrlok on one. It ended up being a monstrosity, but whatever.
